Donna Clayton M.A., C.B.T., C.Y.T., D.V.C./A, hailing from the vibrant city of Chicago, is a distinguished professional in the field of Human Services and Mental Health. She pursued her academic journey at Roosevelt University where she earned her bachelor's with a concentration in psychology, then to further her mental health pursuits she attended National Louis University where she received hare master's degree in psychology with a concentration in health psychology, she also attended Adler School of Professional Psychology.
Ms. Clayton boasts a multifaceted career as a trainer, author, and consultant, catering to a diverse array of clients, including private enterprises, public institutions, and municipal agencies. Her extensive list of clients includes esteemed organizations such as the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center, the Chicago Police Department, and the Chicago Public School System. She has lent her expertise to social services, mental health, and domestic violence programs.
With a rich background in serving culturally diverse populations, Ms. Clayton has consistently demonstrated her proficiency in working with adults, children, and adolescents who require mental health support. Her consulting work has been instrumental in supporting juvenile detention centers and mental health agencies, and she has contributed her knowledge as an educator at Chicago City Colleges.
Ms. Clayton's illustrious career spans over 25 years, during which she has served as a Psychologist and Behavioral Specialist, and with The Department of Children and Family Services as Child Welfare Specialist. for the Department of Human Services. Notably, she is the driving force behind Granny's House Inc., a non-profit organization she established in 1995. Under Granny's House Inc., Ms. Clayton has conceived and implemented numerous mental health and social programs, including "A Parenting Solution," an innovative parenting program that incorporates the Adlerian approach to parenting, as well as "Tools for Dads," a program designed for fathers. Her most recent venture, established in early 2023, is "Counseling, Consultation & Mindfulness," where she currently serves as the President.
Ms. Clayton's diverse skill set encompasses roles as a therapist, diagnostician, behavioral specialist, trainer, and program developer. Her standing in the field has earned her vendor status with the Chicago Public Schools and the City of Chicago. She is also a valued member of the Minority Business Association, where she contributes to the advancement of underrepresented businesses in her community.
